Best Time To Visit

Zambia experiences a predominantly subtropical climate characterized by three distinct seasons which include the hot and dry season(Mid August to mid November), the wet rainy season(mid November to April) and a cool dry season (May to mid August).  November is unpredictable but usually with some afternoon rain.

  • December, January, February & March are the wettest months, with heavy downpours in the afternoon and in April rains slow down and so does the humidity.
  • The cool dry season lasts from May until August, with maximum temperatures ranging from the high 10C to the low 20C morning and evening temperatures may be significantly lower. July is usually the coldest month.
  • The best time to visit Zambia is during the dry season which runs from mid August to mid November. These months are perfect for wildlife viewing and offer pleasantly mild daytime temperatures although September and October do get extremely hot.
