About Thailand

The Kingdom of Thailand is situated in the Southeast of Asia, bordered to the North by Myanmar, to the East by Cambodia and to the South by Malaysia. The country is traditionally divided into 4 regions; the North, the Northeast, the Central also termed as “the rice bowl of Asia” and the South which all differ in population, natural features, basic resources and level of social and economic development. Bangkok is the country's capital and largest city famously known for its street life and cultural landmarks. Tourism makes up about 65% of the country's economy as it is known for ancient ruins and ornate temples displaying figures of Buddha, opulent royal palaces, tropical beaches and interestingly has the most delicious mangoes in the world.

Thailand, the 51st largest country on the earth, has a total population of more than 70 million people with the majority living in Bangkok. The official language of Thailand is Thai that is also used as the principal language of education, governance and is spoken throughout the country. The most prevalent religion in the country is Theravada Buddhism, which is an integral part of Thai identity and culture making Thai the second largest number of Buddhists in the world.  The staple food in Thailand is rice making Thai cuisine one of the most popular in the world as each region has its specialities; “kaeng khiao” in the Central region, “som tam” in the Northeast, “khao soi” in the North and  “massaman curry” in the South.

Most of the country experiences a Tropical climate that is influenced by Monsoon winds which have a seasonal character. Thailand is divided into three seasons: a hot season or summer from March to June. Thai summers aren’t for the faint of heart! Little rainfall, high humidity and extremely high temperatures. July through October marks the rainy season due to the Southeast Monsoon winds. This doesn’t mean four months of constant downpours. Days usually start off sunny, with thunderstorms and heavy rains arriving in the afternoon or evening. While hardly comparable to the icy , snowy winters  in many countries, this is the season when Thailand “cools off”. From November to February, daily humidity drops to 50%-60%.

Thailand is the number one tourist location in South East Asia also termed as “The Land of Smiles” and it's easy to see why. The Thai are some of the friendliest and down to earth people you could meet. There are countless attractions and activities that include visiting the Grand palace that is set in the heart of Bangkok, visit a floating market, Island and beach tours, parks and recreation centres, visit Tiger kingdom, Dreamworld, Dolphin world and City tours. Lastly, why go to Thailand and miss out on the famous Thai massage? Visit any local spas and experience the specialty and relaxation of the Thai massage from the true source.
