DAY 2   Soweto and Apartheid Museum Tour 

Soweto is a cluster of townships, on the south-western flank of Johannesburg and was created in the 1930s. It is the biggest black urban settlement in Africa with a rich political history.

From the footbridge of the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, the largest on the continent, one can get a panoramic view of Soweto. Visit the Hector Pieterson Memorial in Orlando West, built-in memory of the people who died 16 June 1976. The Mandela House Museum is an interesting stopover for those keen to imbibe a slice of authentic history. You can also have a glimpse of the mansion belonging to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu's house and the Sisulu residences which are all in the same neighbourhood.

After a brief lunch stop (lunch not included), continue to the Apartheid Museum which opened in 2001 and is acknowledged as the pre-eminent museum in the world dealing with 20th Century South Africa, at the heart of which is the apartheid story. For anyone wanting to understand and experience what apartheid South Africa was really like, a visit to the Apartheid Museum is fundamental.

The museum is a beacon of hope showing the world how South Africa is coming to terms with its oppressive past and working towards a future that all South Africans can call their own. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

DAY 3      Sun City and Pilanesberg Nature Reserve Tour 

See South Africa from two strikingly different sides as you get in touch with nature; you keep your eyes and ears peeled for Africa’s Big 5! Later on, try your luck and get your thrills at the outstanding entertainment complex: Sun City!

Set out from Johannesburg and trek into the adventurous North West province of South Africa. We make our way to the whopping 572km² game reserve. The park is home to many a species but namely the Southern African famous Big 5: The Lion, the elephant, the buffalo, the leopard and the rhino. Have a blast whilst on-board a closed-vehicle game drive, on a hunt for the wonderful wildlife, big and small. The game reserve is chock-a-block with curious creatures and beautiful birds.

Your guide will be excited to share everything they know with you; they’ll be full of tips and tricks so that you get the chance to see as many marvellous animals as possible. What sets this park apart from others is the incredible crater! It’s pretty much a geological phenomenon due to the fact it stopped erupting millions of years ago and now acts as an exquisite background for the most amazing view.

On the edge of the wonderful wilderness, you will find the excellent entertainment spot: Sun City. It features luxury casinos, out-of-this-world entertainment and a first-rate golf course! You will be shown around the glamorous oasis with its top-notch bars and restaurants.
